We use technology, but we don't want to depend upon it

Technology is a part of the post-modern world.  This is the civilization we live in, circa 2018.  The inventors and factories are always creating more and new stuff appears every day, it is rapidly changing and always in-flux.  Yet we can decide how we handle this ever-changing situation.  Technology should never rule over us, the robots are not in charge.

We also believe that the "articial intelligence" within the computers  (a.k.a. A.I.) will never be better than the human being.  Certainly not better than our true potential; and that is what we should be reaching, not for the lowest common denominator of life.  The lowest common denominator of the human scale would be people who depend on technology and computers to do everything for them.  In other words, they can't think for themselves.  We are not that way! Let's use our brains and think about it!! The BRAIN is a "terrible thing to waste".

We accept technology and we use it.  However we are not obsessed by it, we are not dependent upon it.  Is using this blog and the internet a contradiction to our principles?  No, we keep it in balance.  This website blog is used as a communication tool to reach people around the world.  We recommend spending at least half of the day, with the students, the children, in natural, "low-tech" activities.  What does that mean?

Here's a list:
Being unplugged, anything you do outdoors.
Planting seeds
observing clouds
drawing a picture on paper
reading a book on paper (not e-book)
hiking
swimming
talking with the people you are with (not on a smart-phone)

You get the idea now!  It's hard to do this for half of the day, because it seems that everywhere there is technology pulling us back in.  It's like a vacuum cleaner sucking in everything... well, we are not dirt and dust!  Don't give in to the vacuum cleaner suction of all the technology around us in this postmodern world.  It's worth it to live a natural life in-balance.
